Hi!

Just wanted to show you our new office =)

Moved in here yesterday and we can now finally organize the work better and get more done, since both of us are now working full time in the company =)
This is the place were ShapeUp Club is gonna be the best Calorie Tracker there is! (or maybe we already are? Well, in that case, now we’re getting even better!)

Have a lovely weekend

Yours Sincerely

Tove!

All right everybody! Time to initiate the closure of one more week. Its finally Friday!

I hope you are satisfied with the days that passed and that you came a bit closer to your goal. Or perhaps at least decided that it is now time to start working on your health (I mean seriously the decision is almost half the job!). =)

Quite a lot has happened this week at Sillens, we have for example released an update to the iPhone application where you can sign up for an online account directly on your mobile (plus a few bug fixes), so be sure to update your ShapeUp Club app!
We have also started on new and exciting project for ShapeUp Club (you will soon become aware of what it is).

I have also prepared myself for a lecture, which today also brought this week to an end.

This lecture took place at a school in my hometown, Örebro.

It should be noted that I am extremely new to the whole lecturing thing, and this was the third time I have been asked to talk about our company.

But I do believe that it all went well, even though I at one point accidently mixed my notes up, but what the heck, I’m hoping that nobody noticed that :S

I mean, the lecture took place on a Friday afternoon and my audience had not had a coffee break in a long time since the coffee cart lost its way somewhere in the school corridors.

I was going to ask someone to take a picture of me while speaking, but forgot all about it due to nervousness. But here’s another picture of another lecture I held, where I spoke about pretty much the same things.

Today it was however also focused on trying to get this school to introduce a concept called Young Entrepreneurs (freely translated from Swedish…). It’s simply a project where the students can test how it can be to run their own business.

Hopefully it went well, got a bit of good response after the lecture, nice!

Well, moving on, to what happens next week;

I figured that Christmas is now long gone, and it is again about time for me to start living what I preach. So, I therefore joined a good, suitable gym for my needs (read: they have a jacuzzi).

Otherwise, we will keep you up to date with the latest news about ShapeUp Club here via the blog!

Have a nice weekend my friends!

Hi!

A few words regarding the bugs and you..

Since the release of ShapeUp Club 2.0 we have run in to a few problems, which mostly seem to regard our ”old” iPhone users. The sync function has been a bit buggy for some of you and Martin has now worked really hard to try to find out what the fault might be. Now we got a clearer look about these bugs that you have reported to us and we will send an update for the iPhone application to Apple tonight.

With this said I also must add that this update will fix some of the problems regarding the sync, but we still have a few questions we need to straighten out.

We apologize very much for all of these problems, and would also like to send a huge thank you to all of you who have reported these bugs to us!
So, thank you so very much for your co-operation and also for being so patient and kind to us!
Your nice words about ShapeUp Club keeps us motivated to work even harder and make this service to the absolutely best calorie tracker both online and on your mobile!

And, as the work progress we will hopefully soon have a perfectly non-buggy version of ShapeUp Club available! Thank you for sticking with us!

During this time of debugging we will not leave you without new features and updates to the online service and the application. We are constantly working with new ideas to make ShapeUp Club better then best, and are as usual welcoming all of your ideas and thoughts with open arms.

Yours Truly
Tove

Hi!

Just wanted to tell you that we are working with the problems some people have when syncing your data. One good thing is that we don’t need to submit a new version of the iPhone app to get it working as most of the syncing is handled online. But we will however submit a new version with some bugfixes hopefully tonight or tomorrow to fix some bugs in the iPhone app. So please if you know any important bugs in the iPhone app just post in the forum or send us an email so we can fix it.

Some tips and info when syncing:

  • Try to always use WIFI when syncing, we recommend you to sync maybe once a day
  • The first time you sync it can take very long time, please wait
  • Don’t exit the sync, it can damage the data (fix for this is coming)

Thanks for all your help with making this the best iPhone app / online service and also thanks for your patience! We are doing all we can to get it working for you all as soon as possible.

Best regards
Martin, ShapeUp Club

Today was the first day of school for me after the summer break. (For you who don’t know I’m studying biomedical science at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.)
So now I try to equally divide my time between studies and Sillens AB.

Molecular biology, theory. Great fun, huh ;-)

Our hopes were to have the update for ShapeUp Club ready and released before I went back to school, because of the extra amount of time the startup of the website may take.

Well, this didn’t happen, but I’m sure we will manage anyway, just let’s hope Apple approve ShapeUp Club 2.0 soon!
A bit biased maybe, but I use the new 2.0 update daily and it’s so good! Wish I could share it with all of you. Even if you don’t sign up for the online service, the improvements in the application have made it so much easier to use ShapeUp Club.
(And if you can’t wait to see what it looks like, you can watch these tutorial videos and perhaps get some idea of what it looks like.)

We still haven’t heard anything from Apple, we have tried to call them and send them emails, but nothing.
I’m really sorry, but I think we are just going to have to wait. Hopefully they will approve it very soon.

Some news from Sillens AB is that we are now entering a new phase with the development of ShapeUp Club. During next week I, together with Martin and Mats will discuss design and functionality for ShapeUp Club on new mobile platforms, exciting!
Will tell you more about this when I know more myself and when we have come to some conclusions.

Bye for now!
Tove

Hey!
Remember my last post?
I got a mail from Maik about it, and he also wanted me to add that these scales measure the content of water in your body. If you drink or sweat before using them you will get different readings. So the best thing to do is to always use the scale at the same time, every time.

Another tip is to weigh yourself the first thing in the morning, before you eat or drink anything, this will give the most accurate numbers.
And remember! It’s just numbers on a display, don’t care to much about it! The most important thing is that you are healthy and feel good! Don’t become a slave of the scale! =)

Same time, every time
Try to weigh yourself at the same time, every time. (Sorry about the socks, its cold in Sweden…)

If you have any questions and post them as comments here on my blog I (or Martin) will answer them also as a comment under the post you asked your question. Hope this is ok!
So, “Allison” and “Eklund”, Martin has answered your questions under the “ScaleUp” post.
A few days back we did some technical changes to these blogs, and a few comments got deleted. Extremely sorry about that!
But I do remember one comment from a person who wanted to know if his old data from the ShapeUp Club application also would be synced with the website.
Yes! It will. All your previous information will be synced and saved on shapeupclub.com when or if you decide to also join us online.

Hmm, hmm, anything else I wanted to tell you?
No news from Apple, and as Martin said, they are probably doing their best and might be short staffed since it is still holidays. But hopefully ShapeUp Club 2.0 will be released soon!
I don’t know how many readers there are here, but I guess not so many since the website is a quit boring place to spend time at right now. (Except for the light Maik, Scott and Maria are bringing to ShapeUp Club, thanks guys!)

Still, is there anything special you would like to know or perhaps see from ShapeUp Club?
Since we simply are waiting for Apples approval we try to use the time wisely and are therefore planning for future features.
Let us know if you have any special wishes or ideas for ShapeUp Club! We will welcome all your thoughts with open arms, and try to fulfill as much as possible!
All for now!

Still nothing from Apple…

BUT, at least I can show you what I bought a few days ago.
(Sorry for the delay, I got caught up in designing a button for a new feature for the online service).

As said in the last post, we have received a lot of emails where you have asked us to also make it possible to track your muscle mass, water consistency and body fat (which we added a while back, and it’s therefore possible to track with the iPhone app).
You told me that you had scales that told you all this information about your bodies, amazing =)

Of course I also wanted to get in on all this fun, so I bought a scale that could do all these things.

How to stand on a scale

I really like it, and perhaps it can be a real good motivation while losing/gaining weight or maybe building muscles! You can of course manage a very successful weight loss without this type of scale, a regular one will work just fine. If you follow your Calorie Plan I can assure that you will reach your goal.
Anyway, here’s a picture without me on it.

The New Scale

But all in all, it’s a quit funny weight loss tool, and with the online service you can track up to five different body measurements. So perhaps I will choose to also track my muscle mass and water consistency on my ShapeUp Club Online account.

Body Measurement in Profile

Add a new body measurement

Yes, this is how your Profile looks online. We have some plans to change the design, but for now this the Body Measurements part of the Profile.
I’m really looking forward when you can start use it and tell me your opinions on the design and functionalities! Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be soon!

Yours truly,
Tove
