It took 2 hours 53min, I’m really happy!
Everything went really well but the last 5 km, was hard, had pain in my arms and my butt?!
Here are some pictures …

Before the race, me to the left and Malin my sister in law

At the finish line (in black)
I am totally exhausted

Great achievement. I am training for the triathalon again, but this time for the one up – 30 lengths in pool, 18km bike ride and 5km run – it seems poultry in comparison to your achievement though!
How did you train? It seems from your blog you just focused on the skiing and built the distance. Did you do a full practice run beforehand? Did you do any other exercises?
Thanks,
Sarah.
Well done Maria,
Congratulations.
Jon
Awesome work, way to go
You’re right, I mostly focused on build a distance. Weeks before the race I trained very little strength, which I found to pay for the last half mile before the finish. Afterwards, I would have trained more arm and leg strength. I never tried to ski constant in 3 mil before the race, but I went 2mil and it felt really good. It’s very hilly where I trained as opposed to how the race looked like, which meant I got a good konditon.
Now is the ski season over here where I live, so now it will be spinning and aerobics mixed with strength.
Have a nice weekend!
