Hi Niurka!
What fun that you're going to do Vasaloppet, imagine you're going right up to little Sweden to ski =)you have something fun to look forward to!

I think you've chosen a good way to practice before the Vasaloppet but I would also recommend weight training.
I would replace one or two of your cycling or swimming workouts to strength training of the legs, arms, back and stomach. Don´t forget to rest from training every now and then to let the body recover.
Please let me know if there is something more you wonder about

Good Luck!

I write from South Florida, USA. I plan to do Vasaloppet in 2011. I am curious about what training is needed. We have no snow here, but I know how to cross country skii - we go to Colorado every spring and I ski all day for 5-6 days . The rest of the year I do road bicycling about 33 km 3 days a week, 66 km miles on Saturday and Sunday. On days that I not ride, I swim 1500 meters (2-3 days per week). I hope that by increasing my road cyling mileage, peaking at rides of 166 km 2 weeks before the event, I may be able to finish. What do you think? how is your training going?
