![]() Hi Everyone, I am going to start with some background information on myself, it will help you understand me a little better and the reasons for my blog and more importantly the changes needed to balance my lifestyle. I am hugely into sport and always have been, I have played rugby since I was 4 and still play it today, some 40 years later, I have also participated in hockey, cricket, rowing, aerobics, cross country running and sailing. I am now trying to find time to take up SUP (Stand Up Paddling). Up until I meet my wife in 1999, I had maintained a fairly good weight, approx 90 kg (I am 183cm tall and built solidly) and my lifestyle was balanced in all wrong areas, work, social drinking and sport. In the ensuring 7 years, I put all my energy into my family & work (a lot of business travel and restaurant meals) and consequently put on a load of weight, 26 kgs in total. During this time I started my own business, which takes an enormous amount of time and energy which has hit some highs but also some very low lows. In 2007 when I hit 116 kgs and my life in all aspects was spinning out of control, I decided I had to make some drastic changes. It is these changes and getting control of my life that I will blog about. It has now been 30 months since I started this new path and I think I am only 25% of the way to my end goal. The Start is my next blog. Jon |
